What is the difference between SSG and WSQ?
SSG (SkillsFuture Singapore) and WSQ (Workforce Skills Qualifications) are both entities related to skills development and training in Singapore, but they serve different purposes.

Table explaining the differences between SSG and WSQ

In summary, SSG is the government agency responsible for driving the SkillsFuture movement and promoting lifelong learning, while WSQ is a framework and system developed by SSG to provide industry-aligned training, assessment, and certification of skills and competencies for the Singaporean workforce. SSG oversees the overall skills development landscape, while WSQ focuses specifically on ensuring the quality and relevance of training programs and certifications.

Workforce Skills Qualifications
WSQ (Workforce Skills Qualifications) is a nationwide system in Singapore that aims to train, enhance, evaluate, and certify the skills and competencies of the workforce.
WSQ-endorsed courses are designed based on the skills outlined in the Skills Frameworks, which provide essential information about job roles and the skills required to carry out various tasks effectively and facilitate transferability.
WSQ operates with a robust quality assurance framework. This framework encompasses the development of technical skills, competencies, and critical core skills, as well as the approval of training providers and the granting of WSQ qualifications. Stringent criteria are applied throughout these processes to ensure that the necessary standards and delivery are met. Consequently, a structured and efficient system has been established to establish a solid training infrastructure that contributes to the development of Singapore's workforce.

What is WSQ?

WSQ is a skills-based training and certification system that provides a standardized and consistent framework for training and skills development across various industries. It offers a comprehensive range of training courses and programs that cover various skills areas such as leadership, customer service, digital literacy, workplace safety, and many more.

WSQ aims to develop a competent and adaptable workforce that can meet the changing needs of the economy and the workforce. The system is designed to be flexible, allowing individuals to acquire skills and knowledge through different learning pathways, such as classroom training, e-learning, on-the-job training, and recognition of prior learning.

Benefits of WSQ
